Devyani (RP-Qualiyfing)

With an undergraduate degree in Sociology paired with an Early Childhood Education Diploma, Devyani began her career working with children and at-risk youth.
 

Many of the children Devyani worked with, were exposed to the “street life” as they called it and expressed that there was peer-pressure to try different drugs or engage in certain activities which they were not comfortable with. This led to Devyani's work in the field of Addictions - working with both the inner-city population and in the private sector with more affluent clients. It was here that she really understood the meaning of “meeting clients where they’re at”. Everyone has a different journey, different circumstances and no-one way is the right way.
 

As someone of South Asian Origin, Devyani understands what it means to try to balance the duality of the North American lifestyle with opposing cultural norms, and the anxieties and hardships which may come with this. However, these experiences enabled her to understand the importance of Mental Health support in the South Asian community (and other cultures where Mental Health is not given priority). 

 
Devyani works with clients 18+ from various cultural backgrounds, who struggle with mental health concerns, physical trauma, and emotional obstacles. Devyani is DBT Trained and Gottman informed, but sessions are catered and customized based on clients & are case specific. She is also trained as a Certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider and is a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CSTIP) Candidate.
