SERVICES

Individual Psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy

At Niyamma Therapy, our mission is to provide high-quality healthcare services to our patients. Psychotherapy is a type of mental health treatment.

During a psychotherapy session, you can work with your therapist to identify and change troubling thoughts. Once identified, work begins to  change unhelpful behaviours which accompany those thoughts.

At Niyamma we offer a variety of different approaches. Here are a few approaches which are used within our clinic , contact your practitioner directly to see which approaches they may use/ feel are best for you.

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy- Helps clients change their thoughts and behaviors that may be causing problems.
  • Psychodynamic therapy- Helps clients understand how their unconscious thoughts may affect their behavior.
  • Dialectical behavior therapy- Uses a problem-solving and acceptance-based framework to treat chronic mental health conditions.
  • Humanistic therapy- Helps individuals develop a healthy sense of self, explore their feelings, and work on their strengths.
  • Somatic Therapy - Somatic therapy is a type of mental health counseling that focuses on the body's connection to emotions. It's used to treat trauma, PTSD, and other mental health issues.
  • Trauma Informed Therapy- Trauma-informed psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that aims to help people heal from trauma by providing a safe and supportive environment. It recognizes the impact of trauma on a person's life and helps them develop the skills to cope and recover
  • Interpersonal psychotherapy- Focuses on addressing personal issues that may impact social interactions, well-being, and professional endeavors.
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy- Helps clients become aware of and accept their feelings in order to make a change.
  • Narrative Therapy- Helps people explore the beliefs and narratives that contribute to emotional dysregulation. It can also help people separate their identity from their problems, and realize that it's easier to change their behavior than their identity
  • Grief Therapy - Helps people integrate the pain of loss into a new vision of life, rather than trying to stop feeling the pain or get over grief. Grief therapy can help with: Learning about grief and how it's treated, Exploring grief reactions and symptoms, Adjusting to loss and redefining life goals, Improving coping skills, and Reducing feelings of guilt and blame

When choosing a type of therapy, you can consider:

  • The problems or issues you'd like to discuss
  • How much structure you want in your sessions

We strive to make our patients feel comfortable and cared for during every visit.

Couples Therapy

Couples Therapy

 Couples Therapy at Niyamma

Relationships can be deeply fulfilling—but they also come with challenges. Couples therapy provides a safe, supportive space where partners can explore conflicts, strengthen communication, and rebuild connection. At Niyamma, our goal is to help you and your partner find common ground and move forward with greater understanding, empathy, and alignment.

Whether you're facing ongoing disagreements, navigating major life transitions, or simply seeking to deepen your bond, couples therapy offers tools to support your relationship’s growth and healing.

In your sessions, both partners are encouraged to speak openly and honestly. With the support of your therapist, you’ll learn to communicate in ways that reduce reactivity, build emotional safety, and foster mutual respect. Every couple is unique, which is why our approach is always tailored to your specific dynamic and needs.

Below are some of the approaches and topics that may be explored in your couples sessions. Please contact your practitioner directly to learn more about which approaches may be best suited for you:

ADHD COACHING

ADHD Coaching

At Niyamma Therapy, we recognize that living with ADHD can bring both unique strengths and real challenges. ADHD Support & Coaching provides a practical, goal-oriented approach to help clients build skills, create structure, and develop strategies that work in everyday life. Unlike psychotherapy, which focuses on deeper emotional healing, ADHD coaching is about action—turning insight into meaningful change.

During ADHD coaching sessions, you’ll work with your practitioner to identify obstacles and explore strategies that improve focus, time management, and follow-through. Sessions are collaborative, non-judgmental, and designed to help you feel supported while developing practical tools that actually fit your lifestyle.

Areas of Focus May Include:

  • Building routines that feel natural and sustainable
  • Time management, organization, and prioritization
  • Accountability and motivation strategies
  • Reducing procrastination and increasing follow-through
  • Tools for memory, reminders, and task tracking
  • Self-advocacy skills at school, work, or in relationships

What Makes ADHD Coaching Helpful:

  • Practical strategies: Direct support for executive functioning challenges.
  • Collaborative structure: Coaching emphasizes partnership, not lecture.
  • Flexible tools: From planners to apps, we work with what fits you best.
  • Body Doubling support: Using gentle accountability to help stay on task.
  • Strengths-based: Focusing on creativity, resilience, and problem-solving skills that ADHD brains often excel at.

Who Can Benefit:

  • Teens (16+) and  adults with either a formal ADHD diagnosis or suspected ADHD
  • Professionals, students, or parents looking for structure and balance
  • Individuals who want accountability alongside therapy or medication support

How ADHD Coaching Differs from Psychotherapy

While Psychotherapy explores emotions, past experiences, and mental health challenges through a therapeutic lens, ADHD coaching focuses on practical skills and day-to-day strategies. Coaching is about building structure, accountability, and tools for managing ADHD in real time.

  • Psychotherapy with an ADHD/Neurodivergent lens may address anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, or emotional regulation that often co-exist with ADHD.
  • ADHD Coaching helps with executive functioning skills such as organization, planning, task completion, and time management.

Addictions Counselling

Addictions Counselling

During addiction counselling sessions, the problems and challenges of the person that led them to use drugs are assessed. After a thorough evaluation of it, the therapist can aid in supporting the client's recovery.  Addiction Counselling helps the client overcome challenges so that they are able to attain the goals which they have set for themselves.

Behavioral therapies help individuals engage in their substance abuse programs by modifying their attitudes and behaviors regarding drug abuse, providing incentives for them to stay sober, and increasing their life skills so they can deal with challenging situations, triggers, and cravings.

WELLNESS SERVICES

Niyamma Therapy offers wellness services such as Reiki , Tarot Reading and Nervous System regulation.

Reiki  - Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

For this service please email us at info@niyammatherapy.com

Tarot Reading- Tarot cards are read in combination with one another to interpret the meaning of a given moment or scenario (past, present, or future).  They create awareness of the moment's potential and influences or bring a new perspective to the querent, the person receiving the reading. For this service book with Anjali.

Nervous System Regulation- Nervous system regulation therapy is a type of therapy that helps people manage their stress and improve their overall well-being.
